First it was David Bowie and now it’s Prince. My heart can’t handle these profound losses to the music world.
Prince, aged 57 leaves us today (for a better place, we hope). Sad, sad news of Prince’s death is rocking the news waves. The why’s and the how’s are still a mystery, but I’m sure we will find out in the next few hours or days. But I’m not here to write about the specifics, I’ll leave that to the rest of social media to reveal that news to you. I’m here to honour the man, his music and his style. Prince’s music was a big part of my childhood. I grew up with Little Red Corvette and religiously watched Purple Rain (I cried every single time). His Purple Rain album was and is still one of my favourites! And “The Beautiful Ones” and “Purple Rain” still play on my Darkness playlist! Apart from all my memories, Prince’s musical genius will be a loss.
With 39 solo albums under his belt; Prince was a singer, guitarist, songwriter, producer, dancer, and performer on keyboards, drums, and bass making him among the most talented American musicians of his generation. His sexually explicit lyrics are also one of his claims to fame! I now regret not going to his impromptu concert in Montreal last month.
I’m here to honour his style too because I am a jewelry blog. If I were you, I’d bring up your Prince playlist (because I know you must have one in your library – if that’s not the case, CHOP! CHOP!) while browsing the following pics – “Let’s Go Crazy”……
R.I.P. PRINCE – SHINE ON!
