Balmain SS2017 – I have been lazy about posting what’s coming up for jewelry next Spring/Summer as they are already well into Paris Fashion Week. But I have to post the Balmain show because Olivier Rousteing is one of my favourite designers now and because this show was exquisite. The 70s feel is evident throughout with the shimmery metallic fabrics. The fluidity and graphic eye candy are a treat to our senses. I especially love the silhouettes with cut outs and slits in tasteful ways. I miss the embroidered details I have expected from him but even designers need to evolve!
We are not here for the fashion but the jewelry! I do love love the silver and gold fringe cascading chokers! I need one right now! It makes the outfit, wouldn’t you agree? I’m certain I could get my hands on something similar more in our budget range. I’m on the prowl now or I will keep on an eye out for the real deal! Will let u know what I find.
The sleek chokers are fine but the textured ones are striking especially against the divine chain mail. Big fan of chain mail – Alexander McQueen & Versace always knew how to work with this fabric. I’m pleased to see Olivier bringing it into the mix.
And the belts were so cool, even I think I want to purchase a few of them myself.
Simple cuffs and arm cuffs always send out a powerful message – be bold no matter what or who tells you otherwise!
The one earrings are spectacular – but I would see no harm in making it a duo power!
I’ve included the video of the whole fashion show if you have 20 mins to spend on it or put it in the background as you do something else – the music playlist is dreamy as is the collection.
My inspiration boards are coming soon for next Spring! And once I finish uploading new jewelry online, I will send you an email! Slowly but surely!
